Security at Litla-Hraun Prison, Iceland
The Litla-Hraun prison on the southern coast of Iceland, is used to hold prisoners with a long sentence or who have a history of violence. It needed an innovative security system to monitor the area surrounding the prison compound and movements within the compound. Traditional security detection systems such as buried wire and fence vibration detection wire had been evaluated but were discounted due to their inability to cover wide areas effectively. The AdvanceGuard® system was tailored for the project’s precise requirements and consisted of two radar sensors together with Navtech’s Witness software to process the data and generate alarms.
