Navtech’s automatic incident detection solution delivers multiple capabilities from the same system which reduces the number of technologies that need to be installed on the roadside and subsequent operational management.

It provides comprehensive AID for a range of incident types, including stopped vehicle, wrong-way driver, debris, queue, pedestrian, hard-shoulder, and wildlife detection. The same system can deliver further actionable data, such as count and classification information and situational awareness for emergency services in the event of a tunnel fire.

It works when and where you need it most: in all weather conditions and harsh tunnel environments, across long distances and in specific problem hotspots, where fibre is in place and where its not, or where it’s costly to undertake associated infrastructure work.

The solution has been proven as a safety system across schemes of 250+ miles and is trusted in tunnels to automatically trigger warning signs and tunnel closures. It’s used on busy strategic roads to help reduce journey times, quickly alerting road operators to problems on the network, while providing vehicle count data to inform KPI reporting.
